Dynamic Paper
Last updated: 31 July 2026

Dynamic Paper (“we”, “the app”) is an Android application that changes your lock and home screen wallpapers based on conditions you configure (such as location), and can show place-linked todo lists and optional lock-screen overlays. This policy explains what information the app processes, how it is used, and your choices.

Summary: Most of your content (wallpapers, places, todos, geofences) stays on your device. We do not sell your data and do not show ads. The app uses a limited, privacy-minded analytics and crash-reporting service (PostHog) that receives anonymous product metrics and technical crash data only — not your todo text, place names, photos, or precise location coordinates.

1. Information we process on your device

Location

If you grant permission, the app may access your precise location:

Location coordinates used for map and geofence features are processed on your device for those features. They are not sent to PostHog analytics. Google Play services may process location-related data for geofencing as described below.

Photos and wallpapers

The app does not request broad access to all photos on your device. You select each image through the system picker. Image content is not uploaded for analytics.

Camera (optional)

If you use the optional QR “scan with camera” feature, the app requests the camera permission to read a barcode or QR code on device. Camera frames are used only for that scan and are not uploaded to Dynamic Paper or PostHog.

Rules, places, and todos

Condition names, geofence coordinates, saved places, todo items, overlay settings, and theme preferences are stored locally in the app’s database and private files on your device.

2. Anonymous analytics and crash reports (PostHog)

Dynamic Paper uses PostHog (PostHog Inc., cloud region: United Statesus.i.posthog.com) for product analytics and error tracking so we can understand reliability and basic usage of the app.

Examples of what we may send:

We configure analytics so that we do not send:

PostHog assigns a random device/install identifier so events can be counted over time. That identifier is not your name or Google account. See PostHog’s privacy policy.

3. Information we do not sell

4. Other third-party services

The app also relies on these third parties. Their policies apply to data they receive:

Google Play Services

Used for geofencing (detecting when you enter or leave a defined area) and, if you use related features, Google location/maps-related services. Google may process location-related data according to the Google Privacy Policy.

Google Places / Maps Platform (if configured)

Optional place search may send your search queries and map context to Google’s Places APIs under the same Google privacy terms, so you can find and save places. This is separate from PostHog analytics.

OpenStreetMap (map tiles)

The in-app map loads map tiles via the osmdroid library. Requesting tiles may send your IP address and an approximate map area to OpenStreetMap tile servers. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.

Pexels (optional external link)

The app may offer an optional link to browse wallpapers on pexels.com in your web browser. Dynamic Paper does not send your data to Pexels; only your browser interacts with that site if you choose to open the link.

5. Android permissions

The app may request or use these permissions:

The app does not declare broad storage or “All files access” permissions. Gallery access uses the system picker only.

6. Storage, retention, and backup

Local app data stays on your device until you delete individual rules, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. Android may include app data in device backup / cloud backup if you have backup enabled in system settings.

Anonymous analytics and crash events sent to PostHog are retained according to our PostHog project settings and PostHog’s practices (typically for product improvement and reliability).

7. Your choices

8. Children

Dynamic Paper is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
